As the first onion to win an All-American Selection award, this white intermediate day variety will not disappoint with its dark foliage that provides magnificent contrast again it’s bright white bulbs. Superstar is a mildly sweet with large white rings with pink root resistance. This onion matures in about 85-90 days. As an intermediate day onion, it is grown best in the middle US and southern long day areas. Best marketed and consumed fresh as it has a storage potential of about 1-2 month. The Super Star type onion (also referred to as Sierra Blanca) is the favorite white variety for commercial growers in Texas, New Mexico, California, and Colorado.
